COURSE: The course will be at least three miles but no more than five miles.

Shirts will be guaranteed to runners & walkers who register by the deadline, which is Sunday, January 28th, 2024. There may or may not be a limited number of shirts available on race day. We will not re-order if necessary so you are urged to pre-register to guarantee your shirt on day of race. Again, DEADLINE for pre-registration is Sunday, January 28, 2024.
Day-of-race registration and packet pickup will take place beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Pavilion at Pleasant Ridge Park.
AWARDS: This is a time-prediction run. You will be asked to predict your pace-per-mile, running or walking, based on the road and weather conditions that morning, and we will calculate your predicted finishing time. Those participants closest to their predicted pace will receive their choice from a delicious selection of chocolate and candy awards. You must be present when the awards are announced to choose your own award! Walkers are welcome. For the sake of fairness, you are asked to refrain from wearing watches or other timing and pacing devices.
Note the change from past years – there will be a limit of 10 awards or 25% of pre-registrations, whichever is greater. (If 60 people register, 15 awards, and so on).
NOTE: The race will take place as scheduled regardless of the weather, with one exception: the race may be postponed or cancelled altogether if called for by emergency officials for any reason. Since this is always a possibility in the winter, check the ERC website on the morning of the race if you have any doubt about the race being held.
POST-RACE REFRESHMENTS: There will be refreshments available following the race in the Pavilion.

We will have a timer, course, shirt and medal. There is construction in the beach 1 parking lot that will decrease space and due to our park permit you will need to walk from the parking lot at the top of the hill to the race on Sunday and after the race, It is a .6 mile walk. We will have a course that is a certified course, timer, shirt, medal and after race food. If you follow the page on Facebook this will give the most up to date information. Will email during race week from runsignup to participants prior to the race.
There is a marathon only, the event is capped at 2000. The Erie Runners Club also has a Half Marathon at Presque Isle in July. This would be a great training run for the September marathon to share with friends who would like to run a half marathon. Please follow the Erie Marathon on Facebook. There is a 6 hour limit.

ERC PRESQUE ISLE HALF MARATHON
Beach 1 Pavilion Presque Isle State Park, Erie, Pa.
Course: One Loop (13.1 miles) Of Presque Isle State Park. The Start and Finish are on Old Lake Road (Beach #1). There are eight water Stations on the course and refreshments at the runners club pavilion near the finish line. An Electrolyte will be available at four of the water stations.
Time: We will start at 6:45 am. Promptly. All registration is at runsignup. Day of race bib pick up will begin at 5:30 AM at the Beach 1 Pavilion. Pre-race packet pick up will be at Beach #1 pavilion. Pre-race pick up is on Saturday (Day before race) from noon until 5:00 PM.

A little note about time: Many places list the start as 6:30 am. This is due to a limitation of the old (homegrown) calendar. With the WordPress add-in we’re now using, 6:45 is possible. But really, would you rather be 15 minutes early or 15 minutes late? (And nobody feels bad about that 15 minutes. The volunteers are all going to be there at 5 or earlier.)

Packet Pickup is on Saturday the day before the race at Presque Isle’s Erie Runners Club Pavilion from Noon to 5 pm. Come early to check out parking, race site, the beach, etc.
